Salamandre 67-25 - Lace sculpture metal steel and wood
SALAMANDRE 67-25
Metal lace sculpture
steel and wood
Philippe Buil
The spirit of fire frozen in steel lace: a salamander born from the meeting between nature and material.
This sculpture depicts a salamander that seems to climb agilely on a natural wood support, creating a striking contrast between the warmth of the organic material and the industrial coldness of steel.
The metal, transformed into lace, unfolds in organic branches evoking both skin, flames, and plant growth.
Fixed on a metal base and leaning against a fragment of natural wood, the salamander embodies the meeting between raw material and the precision of the gesture. An ancestral symbol of transformation, resistance, and rebirth, it seems here suspended between strength and fragility, movement and balance.
