Metal heart sculpture: an ode to union and emotion
With Cœur 1-25, I wanted to create a metal heart sculpture that speaks directly to emotion, without detour. A work where matter becomes language and where metal, often perceived as cold, transforms into a vector of warmth and connection.
These two intertwined hearts are not simply placed side by side: they meet, intertwine, embrace. I worked their lines to keep them light, almost airy, despite the strength of steel and the nobility of bronze. The metal lace allows this duality: a solid structure, but visually fluid and delicate.
In this piece, every curve tells a story. Union, of course, but also individuality. The two hearts never completely merge. They remain distinct while creating a shared harmony. It is this tension between fusion and identity that deeply interests me.
I like that this sculpture can be freely interpreted: romantic love, family bond, deep attachment… everyone can project their own experience onto it. It then becomes an intimate, almost personal work.
With Cœur 1-25, I seek to capture that fragile moment when two beings meet and choose to connect. A subtle balance between strength and softness, matter and emotion.
