Lion Head: The Majesty of Rest and Serene Strength
With "Lion Head," I wanted to capture the spirit of the king of animals beyond the roar. This sculpture is a celebration of quiet strength, that moment of rest in the savannah where raw power transforms into a protective gentleness. The gaze is calm, the posture noble, and the mane, crafted in a complex metal lace, seems to quiver under a warm breeze.
The contrast between steel and bronze highlights the imposing volumes of the face while bringing a solar brightness. The bronze, with its golden gleams, evokes the tall grasses of the savannah and the nobility of the coat. It is a piece from the Intimate range that asserts its presence through serenity, transforming this emblematic predator into a benevolent and timeless guardian for your interior.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Why depict the lion in a moment of "rest"? The lion is often associated with hunting or fighting. I preferred to show the "strength of gentleness": that moment when the animal is fully in control of its territory and itself, radiating wisdom and deep peace that invite contemplation.
How is the mane made? It is sculpted by manual fusion (dripping) of drops of steel and bronze. This technique creates a very airy and wild mesh that mimics the natural movement of hair, while allowing light to pass through the sculpture to lighten its mass.
What materials are used for this lion head? The work combines steel for the structure and robustness of features, with bronze for the richness of details and chromatic warmth. This metal alliance enhances the precious and royal character of the animal.
Is this a unique piece? Yes, absolutely. Each "Lion Head" is an original piece created without a mold. The design of the metal lace results from an instinctive gesture during fusion, ensuring that your sculpture can never be duplicated.
Is the work signed? Yes, the Philippe Buil signature is directly applied in the metal. A certificate of authenticity accompanies the sculpture, certifying its artisanal origin and its status as a unique collector’s piece.
