Blue Sea Spray Can: The Pop Art Spirit Between Graffiti and Marine Horizon
With this sculpture, I wanted to transform an iconic object of urban culture — the spray can — to give it a marine and poetic soul. "Blue Sea Spray Can" is a decidedly Pop Art work that plays on contrasts: the roughness of lace steel meets the transparency and depth of a fused glass in an intense blue. It evokes the creative gesture of the graffiti artist, but here, the paint turns into a marine veil, a breath of ocean escaping from the metal bottle.
The dripping work in steel outlines the body of the can with incredible lightness, while the "jet" of paint is represented by blue glass, capturing the light like a wave in motion. It is a piece from the Intimate range that brings a dynamic and colorful touch to your interior, a bridge between the energy of the street and the serenity of the open sea. A sculpture that does not just decorate but tells the story of a boundless creative freedom.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the "Pop Art" inspiration for this work come from? Pop Art uses everyday objects to transform them into artistic icons. By using the spray can (the street art tool) and treating it with noble materials like glass and lace steel, I give it a new status as a collectible object.
How is the blue glass integrated with the steel? The glass is fused at high temperature to fit the metal structure. It is not simply placed; it becomes one with the steel lace, creating this contrast of textures between raw metal and the crystalline transparency of the "blue sea".
Is the sculpture made from a real aerosol can? No, the body of the can is entirely recreated from scratch in metal lace by fusion (dripping). It is an artistic interpretation of the volume, built drop by drop to achieve the characteristic transparency of my work.
Is this a unique piece? Yes, absolutely. Each "Spray Can" is an original creation. The way the steel solidifies and the glass flows during fusion cannot be reproduced twice identically. It is signed Philippe Buil and comes with its certificate of authenticity.
How do I care for this piece combining metal and glass? The steel is protected by a professional varnish. A simple dusting with a soft cloth or brush is enough. For the glass, a slightly damp microfiber cloth can be used to restore the full brilliance of the blue color.
