With this metal champagne bottle sculpture, I wanted to give full presence to an iconic object by working it in ronde-bosse so that it exists throughout the space.
A bottle in ronde-bosse: a 360° presence
Unlike a frontal representation, this sculpture is designed in ronde-bosse, meaning it is fully realized on all sides. It is discovered by turning around it, like a real object turned sculpture.
This choice is important in my work: the bottle is not an image, it becomes a presence. Every angle reveals a variation, a different vibration, as if the object transforms according to the viewer’s gaze.
The recognizable shape of the champagne bottle retains its identity, but it is reinterpreted, open, almost expanding into space.
Metal lace: capturing effervescence
Made of steel and bronze, the sculpture is constructed in metal lace by drop-by-drop fusion. This technique allows the creation of a unique openwork structure, where each part is formed by the accumulation of material.
This particular material naturally evokes the world of champagne:
- lightness
- effervescence
- movement
The transparency and play of light give the impression that the bottle is filled with an inner energy, as if bubbles continue to circulate within the material.
L’acier structure l’ensemble, tandis que le bronze apporte une chaleur et une profondeur visuelle. L’objet du quotidien devient alors une sculpture vivante, entre matière et vibration.
The steel structures the whole, while the bronze brings warmth and visual depth. The everyday object then becomes a living sculpture, between matter and vibration.
