The pear bottle sculpture is an artistic interpretation of a magnum of eau-de-vie, which I transform into a metal lace made of steel and copper.
A bottle transformed into sculpture
With this "Pear Bottle," I wanted to capture the elegant silhouette of a magnum bottle of pear eau-de-vie and translate it into my sculptural language: metal lace.
The shape is immediately recognizable, but it is deliberately openwork, fragmented, almost dissolved. Steel and copper blend to create a living, irregular material, pierced by light.
Material as memory
The copper brings a subtle warmth that evokes the amber reflections of the eau-de-vie.
The steel, darker, gives the sculpture its structure and raw character.
By working these metals until creating a true lace, I seek to reveal what lies behind the object: its memory, its use, its presence in our culture.
A bottle between object and artwork
This sculpture belongs to my Bouteilles collection, a series where everyday objects become poetic forms.
The pear bottle sculpture balances between immediate recognition and abstraction. It can be seen as a bottle, but also as fragile architecture, an organic column, or a mark left in the metal.
Each sculpture is unique and reveals different details depending on the light and viewpoint.
