Heart 2-25: The Protective Union and the Breath of Inner Strength
With this work, I wanted to explore the supportive and interdependent relationship that unites two beings or two emotions. This sculpture depicts two hearts within each other: an outer heart, protective and caring, that envelops a second inner heart. The latter, far from being passive, seems to breathe a true internal strength into the whole. It is an allegory of love, transmission, or the strength we draw from deep within ourselves to radiate outward.
The contrast between steel and bronze highlights this duality. The metal lace, created by drop-by-drop fusion (dripping), forms a light and transparent structure where air and light freely circulate between the two shapes. This sculpture celebrates solidarity and balance, a metal totem that reminds us that protecting others and inner strength are the two pillars of our vitality.
