Gemini 19-A4: A Stellar Calligraphy Born from the Galaxies
With this work, I wanted to raise my eyes to the very origin of astrology: the celestial vault. This sculpture reinterprets the sign of Gemini not as a simple graphic line, but as an emanation of stars and galaxies. I sought to materialize the invisible link that connects the celestial bodies to form, in the silence of the night, the silhouette of the celestial twins. It is a work that captures the immensity of the cosmos and projects it into matter.
The marriage of steel and bronze, worked in dripping (drop-by-drop fusion), creates a complex mesh that evokes nebulae and star clusters. The metal lace seems to vibrate with cosmic energy, where each drop of bronze acts like a distant star shining in the sidereal void of the steel. This sculpture is a piece from the Intimate range that brings an infinite and dreamlike dimension to your interior.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
How does the design of this work return to the "stars and galaxies"? Unlike a continuous line, the metal lace here is worked to simulate the grainy and sparkling aspect of a constellation. When observing this sculpture, you don’t just see a symbol, but a portion of the night sky where the void (space) and metal (stellar matter) intertwine to draw Gemini.
What is the importance of the dripping technique for this space theme? Dripping is essentially a projection technique. Each drop of metal fused at 1500°C freezes on the structure, recalling the birth of worlds and the organized chaos of galaxies. The transparency of the steel and bronze lace suggests the depth of the universe, where light travels through darkness.
What are the respective roles of steel and bronze here? The deep, robust gray steel represents the structure of space-time and the darkness of the night sky. The precisely fused bronze brings golden highlights symbolizing the light of stars and the warmth of galactic cores. These bronze projections give this sculpture a mystical and precious radiance.
Is this a unique work? Absolutely. Just as no two galaxies are identical in the universe, the mesh of this 19-A4 piece is the result of an irreproducible moment of creation. Entirely hand-made, without any mold, this sculpture is an original creation signed Philippe Buil, accompanied by its certificate of authenticity.
How should this piece be displayed to emphasize its "night sky" aspect? Placed against a dark or midnight blue background, this sculpture will reveal its full evocative power. A focused, direct light (such as a spotlight) will make the bronze grains sparkle like real stars, while the shadow cast on the wall will create a second constellation, enlarging the work to the dimensions of your room.
