With this bronze buttocks sculpture, I wanted to celebrate the beauty of the human body through a material that is both powerful and delicate.
The body as a sculptural landscape
In the Kouros series, the human body becomes a territory for artistic exploration. With Ô Séant, I chose to focus attention on a part of the body often associated with sensuality and the power of forms.
The buttocks appear here as a sculpture within the sculpture: a simple, almost archetypal volume that evokes the tradition of the nude in art history. The form is deliberately refined to let the material and light reveal the sensuality of the curves.
Bronze lace: between strength and lightness
The sculpture is made of bronze lace, created by melting the metal drop by drop to form an openwork structure. This technique gives the bronze an almost textile appearance, like a metal skin.
Thanks to this metal lace, light passes through the sculpture and highlights the body's volumes. The bronze then becomes a living material, capable of suggesting both the solidity of metal and the fragility of an almost organic substance.
