A face sculpted between shadow and light

This metal face wall sculpture invites us to discover the richness of our emotions and the beauty of human expression.

I imagined L'Écrin d'une Larme around a face that seems to emerge from the material, suspended at the heart of an ornamental frame. I love this presence, both mysterious and expressive, where every contour helps bring the face to life.

Metal lace, between strength and delicacy

Made from steel lace, this sculpture combines the raw textures of metal with lines covered in gold metal leaf. The luminous reflections highlight the contours of the face and the frame's arabesques, creating a subtle contrast with the depth of the dark steel.

With this work, I wanted to give the face a singular setting, as if to preserve the emotions and memories it carries. An original wall sculpture combining human expression, material craftsmanship, and contemporary poetry.

What does the wall sculpture L'Écrin d'une Larme represent?

L'Écrin d'une Larme represents a human face suspended at the center of an ornamental metal lace frame. This composition evokes the sensitivity, emotions, and memories that each face seems to carry. The title adds a poetic dimension to this human representation.

What material is this wall sculpture made of?

This wall sculpture is made of steel using the metal lace technique. The structure features irregular reliefs and openwork forms that give the face and its frame a distinctive sculptural presence.

How are the golden details created?

The luminous details are created by applying gold metal leaf to certain lines of the sculpture. This finish highlights the facial reliefs and the frame's arabesques, creating a contrast with the dark color of the steel.

What is the metal lace technique?

Metal lace is a sculpting technique that transforms steel into openwork forms, reliefs, and organic textures. It makes it possible to create artworks in which the material retains its strength while revealing great delicacy of design.

Why is this sculpture called L'Écrin d'une Larme?

The title evokes the intimate dimension of human emotions. The face becomes a silent witness to our joys, sorrows, and memories. The ornamental frame then takes the form of a symbolic case meant to preserve this sensitivity.

What is the artistic style of L'Écrin d'une Larme?

It is a contemporary figurative sculpture with an ornamental character. The face is recognizable, but its treatment in metal lace gives it a free, expressive, and distinctive interpretation.

Yes. Its universal subject and symbolic dimension make it an interesting artwork to give to someone who appreciates art, emotion, and original creations. It can be a fitting gift for a birthday or an important personal occasion.
