“Le Diamant du Seuil” explores the fragile space where transformation becomes possible.

The sculpture is built around four interlocking squares, whose progressive rotation reveals the shape of a diamond suspended in space. This geometry creates a succession of frames, like successive thresholds that one crosses.

Each square seems to both support and destabilize the next. Their alignment is not perfectly orthogonal: they slip slightly relative to each other, creating an internal dynamic, a silent tension between balance and tipping.

But the geometric rigor is only a first reading. The metal lines dissolve into irregular, almost mineral edges, as if the structure had been slowly eroded or overtaken by organic growth. The material does not simply obey the form: it contradicts it, overflows it, transforms it.

At the center of this arrangement appears a different presence, denser, warmer in its hue. This central fragment acts like a core or an apparition: a form that seems to emerge from the intersection of the frames, as if the space between the squares had produced its own material.

The “threshold” mentioned in the title is not a clear boundary. It is rather an intermediate space, a place of passage between structure and dissolution, between construction and transformation. The four squares then become the stages of an inner movement: four frames of reality that one passes through before reaching the heart of the form.

The diamond is not only the geometric figure that appears through rotation. It also refers to the idea of pressure and metamorphosis: something that forms slowly, under constraint, until it becomes crystalline.

Thus, the sculpture creates tension between several forces:

  • geometry, which organizes space
  • the material, which rebels against the form
  • the void, which connects and passes through the structures
  • and the central core, which suggests a birth.

“Le Diamant du Seuil” then becomes the image of a suspended moment: when structures open and something unexpected begins to appear.

Learn more about the sculpture "Le Diamant du Seuil"

What is the inspiration behind the sculpture Le Diamant du Seuil?

The sculpture is inspired by the idea of transformation. The interlocking squares symbolize successive passages, stages leading to the emergence of a central shape comparable to a diamond.

Why does the sculpture take the form of a diamond?

The diamond naturally appears through the rotation of the squares. This shape also evokes pressure and metamorphosis, like a crystal slowly forming at the heart of the material.

What materials is the sculpture made of?

Le Diamant du Seuil is made of metal lace, mainly combining steel and bronze melted drop by drop to create fine lines and organic textures.

What do the interlocking squares of the sculpture symbolize?

The four squares represent successive thresholds, stages of inner transformation. Their slight rotation reveals the shape of a diamond, a symbol of pressure, metamorphosis, and crystallization.

Why are the edges of the sculpture irregular?

The irregular edges create a contrast between geometric precision and the organic aspect of the material. This tension brings the sculpture to life.

Is the sculpture Le Diamant du Seuil a unique piece?

Yes, each drop of metal solidifies differently, making Le Diamant du Seuil completely unique and impossible to reproduce identically.

How to incorporate Le Diamant du Seuil into interior decoration?

This contemporary metal sculpture easily finds its place on a low piece of furniture, a pedestal, or in a lit niche, where light can play with the gaps, shadows, and reflections of steel and bronze.
