Thursday African mask sculpture
I create this African mask for Thursday as a tension in construction, a moment where forces meet and intertwine.
A series inspired by weekly masks
In this series, each day becomes a face.
I draw on the weekly masks of Senegal to offer a contemporary reading, where the memory of forms meets the freedom of gesture.
Metal lace allows me to work the material like a living fabric, pierced by emptiness and light.
The Thursday mask: complexity
Thursday is represented by four horns, two of which join, a denser, almost architectural structure.
This mask evokes for me a moment of convergence, where paths cross, where tensions reveal themselves.
The lines come closer, intertwine, creating a fragile but powerful network.
It is a sculpture where you feel both mastery and imbalance, like a tipping point in the week.
