"With Pavarti Océan, I wanted to sculpt the breath of the open sea: a female bust in steel lace where glass transforms into a wave of foam, suspended between the white froth of the breakers and the deep blue of the water and sky."
A marine silhouette between steel strength and water lightness
In this work, the female body becomes the vessel of an elemental force, that of the Atlantic Ocean or the Mediterranean. I sought to capture that precise moment when the wave laps the shore, translating the movement of water through fused glass shards that seem to flow over the metal skin. The posture of the bust, both stable and airy, evokes a nymph emerging from the waves or a modern figurehead guiding the gaze toward the horizon. It is a piece that celebrates fluidity and perpetual renewal, bringing a mineral freshness and a soothing presence that transforms your interior into a shore bathed in light and travel memories.
Glass foam and steel lace: the dialogue of reflections
The major originality of Pavarti Océan lies in the chromatic work of fused glass, oscillating between the pure white of the foam and the azure shades of the sky and waves. The glass is not simply added; it is set at the heart of the steel lace by drop-by-drop fusion, creating a striking contrast between the dark, nervous structure of the metal and the crystalline transparency of the glassy material. Light plays a leading role, passing through the bluish and white parts to project moving aquatic reflections on the surrounding walls. Each piece is a unique creation, signed and certified, where the sculptor’s precise gesture immortalizes the ephemeral movement of a wave in the eternity of metal and glass.

FAQ
What is the main inspiration behind "Pavarti Océan"? The work was born from a fascination with the coastline and the movement of waves. It aims to convey the sensation of freshness and the color palette of a wild coast, where white foam meets the deep blue of the sea under a clear sky.
How do you achieve the "wave of foam" effect in the glass? I use the fusing technique to blend powders and shards of white and blue glass. During high-temperature firing, the materials fuse randomly, creating iridescent shades and air bubbles that perfectly mimic the texture of sea foam.
Why use steel to accompany this aquatic theme? Steel provides a solid, dark structure that highlights the clarity of the glass by contrast. It symbolizes rock or the depth of the abyss, serving as a sturdy base for the visual lightness of the glass and the airy mesh of the female body.
What is the best place to showcase this sculpture? Ideally, place it in front of a window or a directional light source. Natural light will make the blues of the glass vibrate and enhance the transparency effect, giving the impression that the sculpture breathes with the rhythm of the tides.
Is the sculpture resistant to time and light? Absolutely. The materials used, steel and fused glass, are imperishable. The blue pigments are trapped inside the glass and will never lose their brilliance, ensuring that your work remains a unique and lasting collector’s piece.
