Selenite Rhinoceros – Steel and Bronze Rhinoceros Sculpture

Creating this rhinoceros sculpture in steel and bronze was for me a way to reveal the silent power of the animal through the fragility of the metal. With Rhinocéros Sélénite, I sought to evoke an almost fossil presence, like an organic memory suspended in time.

This work belongs to my Sculptures Intimes range and to my Animal Collection. I wanted to work here on the balance between strength and disappearance. The rhinoceros's head appears partially revealed, as if the material had been consumed or eroded by time. The voids become as important as the solids, allowing light to pass through this metallic lace.

The main steel structure develops a raw, almost volcanic texture, while the bronze lace brings a warmer, more mineral vibration. This contrast between the two metals creates a dialogue between power and delicacy.

The rhinoceros is an animal that deeply fascinates me. It symbolizes both primitive strength, resilience, and vulnerability. In this contemporary animal sculpture, I do not seek a realistic representation but an emotional and organic interpretation of its presence.

The round metal base also contributes to the work. One part retains a structured and lively material while the other bears my engraved signature, like a discreet imprint left in the material.

Each viewing angle transforms the sculpture. Depending on the light, the rhinoceros seems to appear or gradually disappear. It is this sensation of frozen movement and material in mutation that gives this piece its unique character.

This metal sculpture is an original signed work, created in my studio in France. It is intended for lovers of contemporary sculptures, modern animal art, and unique metal creations.
