Infinity Symbol 22-25: The Eternal Curve of Knowledge and Spirit
With this work, I wanted to explore one of the most powerful signs of our universal language. This sculpture embodies the infinity symbol, a shape that resonates with the same strength whether we speak of mathematical rigor, the vastness of the universe, or spiritual quest. By connecting these fields, I sought to highlight their common foundations: the perpetual cycle, the absence of limits, and the perfect harmony of movement that always returns to its center.
The marriage of steel and bronze, fused drop by drop (dripping), gives this curve an organic and vibrant texture. The metal lace does not freeze the symbol; it lets it breathe, allowing light to pass through its loops as if the flow of energy never stops. This sculpture is a piece from the Intimate range that invites contemplation of what transcends us, offering a presence that is both intellectual and poetic in your interior.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Why combine mathematics, the universe, and spirituality in this work? Because infinity is the meeting point of these three pillars. In mathematics, it represents the limit we strive to reach; in the universe, it evokes endless space-time; and in spirituality, it symbolizes the eternity of the soul. This sculpture is the bridge between these concepts, reminding us that everything is connected by the same fundamental structure.
How does the dripping technique serve the concept of infinity? The drop-by-drop fusion creates a mesh with no apparent beginning or end. The eye follows the curve of the metal and gets lost in the interlacing of the lace, mimicking the infinite movement of the symbol itself. The transparency reinforces the idea of a form that belongs as much to emptiness as to matter.
What are the details of the execution between steel and bronze? Steel forms the main structure, providing durability and strength to the symbol. Bronze is applied by fusion on the edges and curves to bring points of sunlight. These golden reflections highlight the dynamism of the loop and give this sculpture a precious and changing shine.
Is this a unique work? Absolutely. While the infinity symbol is universal, its transcription in metal lace here is completely unique. Created freehand, without mold or template, piece 22-25 is an original creation signed Philippe Buil, impossible to reproduce identically.
How to care for this metal symbol? The work is protected by a high-quality invisible professional varnish. A light dusting with a soft-bristle brush is enough to maintain the clarity of the steel lace and the shine of the bronze splashes in the curves of the symbol.
